ANIMAL WELFAREOn our tour we come across some animals that need food or attention. We are very aware of these animals and have a project to rescue, feed and care for animals in the Township. We work hand in hand with the Knysna Animal Welfare Society – who do a fantastic job. Any animals we come across in distress we report to the Society, who come up immediately and attend to the matter. We take dog food on all our tours and feed many dogs along the way. We also have a project of collecting old dog kennels that are no longer needed and we deliver these up to the township for animals who need shelter. We never have enough and could take up hundreds if there was a supply. We try to get as many female dogs sterilised as possible through the wonderful, caring, efficient staff at the Knysna Animal Welfare Society. We do need an endless supply of dog food and are still trying to work out some way to provide kennels for shelter to as many dogs as we can. (Any ideas or help, welcome!)
